On 10th September 2022, Moktsa Rinpoche left his physical body of this life while in a meditative posture, at his home in Kathok Monastery in Sichuan, China. It was the 15th day of the 7th month in the Tibetan calendar. Many auspicious signs accompanied his passing away. The clear mountain streams in the monastery turned into the colour of milk. Up in the sky, clouds took the form of Guru Rinpoche. Magnificent displays of rainbows and iridescence clouds can also be seen over Kathok Monastery. His sKu gDung (body relic) was subsequently placed in a gDung rTen (reliquary or stupa for body relic) constructed specially for that purpose.
